VAN DRIVER The East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging Meal on Wheels Program is seeking a van driver to deliver meals to participants. Job is in Ottawa, Kansas at the central kitchen. Hours are Monday - Friday, 25-30 hours a week, no nights, weekends, or holidays. Paid vacation, holiday, and sick time. Hourly rate, negotiable based on experience. FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES This position will pack food for sites on route in accordance with site order. Deliver food, supplies, and informational envelopes as requested to sites on appointed route. Keep accurate record of time worked. Clean delivery containers upon return to kitchen. Responsible for reporting van maintenance needs to supervisor. Other duties as requested by Food Service Coordinator or Executive Director. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma, valid driver's license with safe driving record, ability to lift 50 pounds, good communication skills, ability to follow directions. KITCHEN STAFF (COOKS/SUPPORT STAFF) The East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels Program is seeking cooks. Average 650 meals a day. Institutional cooking experience preferred. Monday - Friday 6 AM to 6:30 am start time, 25-35 hours a week (depending on job). Paid Holiday, vacation, and sick time. Job located in Ottawa, Kansas at central kitchen. No nights, weekends, or holidays. Hourly rate, negotiable based on experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for preparation of main dish, side dish and bakery items and assist with packing meals for delivery to sites and for freezers. Maintain all recipe standards and portion control guides. Maintain good working relationships with co-workers and assist where needed after completing assigned department work. Assist with inventory, record keeping, cleaning equipment and kitchen facilities. Act as sub van driver when needed in support staff role. Responsible for supplies needed in respective department to keep necessary menu items stocked. Assist with truck deliveries when needed. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to assist in interpretation of standard procedures & recipes. Experience in quantity cooking preferred. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
